From the moment she was 4 years old visiting the Kennedy Space Center and threw a fit because she wasn’t actually going to space that day, Macy knew she wanted to pursue aviation and spend her days in the sky.

After giving it some thought, Macy decided that being a pilot would be the perfect job for her to spend time in the sky and visit many different destinations. From that moment in the Kennedy Space Center, she had her mind made up about what she wanted to do with her life and it’s motivated her ever since.

Growing up in Georgetown, Texas, AeroGuard’s GTU campus became Macy’s pathway to the career she has always dreamed of having. With an easy commute to school and supportive peers, Macy loves the strong sense of community at the Georgetown campus and describes it as a “small-town feeling” where everyone knows everyone, and there’s always someone willing to help out when you need it.

Once she had her first Discovery Flight at 13 years old, Macy graduated high school early at just 16 and was ready to get started on her career. The only thing stopping her from signing up for flight school as soon as she got her diploma was her age. After taking a gap year while she waited to meet the age requirements to enroll and building even more excitement for the career ahead of her, she became one of the youngest students to start at AeroGuard.

What does she love about flying? Everything. “Being in the air is so peaceful. Everything goes out the window – it’s just flying and that’s all you have to focus on.”

Flight school doesn’t come without its challenges, but the people around Macy have been supportive and continue to cheer her on through every stage. To keep herself motivated, she is constantly thinking of the end goal and also looks back at all the years she’s wanted to be where she is, and how far she’s come in the journey to her professional pilot career.

Macy just completed Instrument Rating at 18 years old and said that it was her favorite part of training so far. Going forward, she’s most excited to become a certified flight instructor and start teaching other students. She’s determined to prove that even though she’s younger, she encompasses the skills and the confidence to teach other individuals how to fly and find that confidence in themselves too. She hopes to inspire others and show them that even though you are young, you can pursue aviation, become an instructor, and be the best you can be as you work towards your career.

If she’s not flying in the sky and studying on the ground, you can find Macy hiking, camping, working out, or hanging out with friends. As she progresses through training and becomes an instructor, she looks forward to building her hours and making it to the airlines – one day landing a position with United or Delta Airlines.

With each holiday that passes by, everyone eagerly waits to hear if one of these busy airport days has broken yet another air travel record for 2023.

Several records have been broken throughout 2023 as the air travel industry completely recovered from past pandemic statistics. June 30th was the first day this year to break the record for the “Busiest Day in U.S. Air Travel History” with 2.8 million people taking to the skies. As a popular holiday for air travel, the Sunday after Thanksgiving stole the crown for the busiest single travel day when TSA screened 2.9 million passengers on November 26th.

While it didn’t take the crown for the busiest travel day, this Christmas season has broken a few of its own records when being compared to 2022. The highest number of passengers screened for this Christmas weekend was December 22nd at 2,775,193 travelers passing through U.S. airports while last December 22nd only screened 2 million passengers. Additionally, nearly every day in December leading up to Christmas Eve screened at least 2 million travelers.

Looking ahead, TSA expects December 29th and January 1st to be incredibly busy days with the possibility of breaking records as well. Will December 29th be able to break the record for single day traffic before 2023 comes to an end? Stay tuned to find out!

As we wrap up 2023 and look ahead to 2024, this year has been a remarkable milestone for the air travel industry. Airlines and airports have been buzzing with excitement as they prepare for record-breaking travel days, increased passenger traffic, more flights and routes, and increased fleets to accommodate all of this incredible growth. Major airlines like United, Delta, and American Airlines have all increased their salaries this year, most by 40%. Southwest Airlines is expected to finalize a long-awaited new deal with their pilots where salaries will equal that of Delta, United, and American.

In addition to rising salaries, these airlines have also expanded their fleet as they open their schedules to more flights. Alaska Airlines, of Alaska Air Group, recently acquired Hawaiian Airlines. If this deal is successful, their fleet will have expanded exponentially, creating more opportunities for these airlines – establishing more routes and destinations to and from Hawaii.

In terms of hiring, United Airlines is expected to break their own hiring record for this year and exceed hiring expectations for 2023 overall as they welcome 2,300+ pilots to the airline. As their fleet continues to expand in 2024, they will require thousands more pilots to fly these new planes.

With all of this growth comes the need for more pilots. As the pilot demand grows and the pilot shortage remains, aspiring pilots have a unique opportunity to take advantage of this New Year.

Now is the perfect time to pursue your pilot dreams and establish a successful career filled with rewarding salaries, generous benefits, incredible retirement packages, and improved schedules – all creating a lifetime of excitement and adventure. 六合彩投注网 is prepared to help you achieve these goals. While your local grocery store fills up with people getting those last-minute ingredients for the classic Thanksgiving fixings and families prepare to reunite over the long holiday weekend, it should come as no surprise that this Thanksgiving weekend is expected to break the record for the busiest day in U.S. air travel history. Travelers will be doing everything they can to meet the expectations of their holiday plans, getting to where they need to go by way of planes, trains, and automobiles.

The days leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday and the Sunday after are always the busiest which usually encompass the busiest day in air travel history. However, earlier this year, June 30th claimed the title as the “busiest day in U.S. air travel history” with 2.9 million people screened. TSA predicts that this Thanksgiving travel weekend will take back the title as they are projecting November 21st will screen 2.5 million passengers, November 22nd to screen 2.7 million passengers, and November 26th to screen 2.9 million passengers. Sunday the 26th will be giving June 30th a run for its money!

As we prepare for busy stores, buzzing streets, and full stomachs, the airports are preparing for a record-breaking number of passengers to pass through their gates over the next seven days. While these days will be the busiest, TSA expects more than 30 million passengers total from November 17th to November 28th, when the first leg of holiday travel wraps up before Christmas and New Year’s rush.

Airports and airlines are feeling the pressure as they commit to maintaining timely arrivals and departures throughout the week. United Airlines, American Airlines, and Delta Airlines all expect Sunday, November 26th to be their busiest travel day with over 60,000 more passengers expected to fly than in previous years.

If you’re a committed guest and need to bring a dish to your get-together, don’t worry! TSA shared that a number of your Thanksgiving favorites can travel in your carry-on bag including baked goods, stuffing, casseroles, vegetables, fruit, and spices. If you’re bringing the family’s secret recipe for sauces, gravy, or jams, then TSA suggests you pack that in your checked baggage (carefully)!

If you’re an aspiring pilot, there’s no better time to pursue this rewarding and exciting career! Pilots are in high demand, and they will always be in demand, providing you with a consistent and successful job with rising salaries and incredible benefits. Not only will you make a career out of your love for flying, but you’ll get to experience new places, connect with others in the industry, and bring families, friends, and businesses together in their travels.

We’re back with another Alumni Spotlight, and this time we’re featuring Callie Burgess. From SkyWest Flight Attendant to Corporate Captain, Callie has established an exceptional pilot career with her passion, dedication, and commitment to her goals. Callie has a unique perspective on multiple career paths as a pilot and has a lot of wisdom to share with those currently in training. We look forward to sharing a little bit of her story with you!

As a flight attendant for SkyWest for six years prior to her flight training, Callie’s love for the sky and flying was already there. During this time, her fianc茅 had purchased a plane and she began to experience what it might be like to fly the plane herself! After obtaining her PPL, Callie transformed her love for the skies into a new thriving career.

After completing her PPL, she knew she wanted to go all the way to becoming a professional pilot. AeroGuard’s partnership with SkyWest through our Pilot Pathway Program was intriguing to her, and she decided to go for it. Callie came to AeroGuard in May of 2019, and from there she completed her Instrument Rating and all other licenses and certifications as well as her 1500 hours as a flight instructor.

Coming from the small town of Durango, Colorado, Callie chose AeroGuard’s Phoenix, Arizona campus location to be closer to family and because Arizona’s skies are always blue with constant good weather, allowing her to fly consistently.

Callie completed her training at AeroGuard in March of 2021. Because the presence of the pandemic was still impacting the airline industry, she patiently waited for her turn to begin her professional career and in October 2021, she landed a job with SkyWest. After a year of flying for SkyWest, she decided to make the switch to Corporate flying in October 2022, and just recently upgraded to Captain.

Callie shared that “SkyWest was fantastic and I would never turn anyone away from SkyWest.” When asked about why she chose to go the corporate route, she stated “It’s not that it was a better choice, it was a different choice.”听

She thought about the schedule she wanted to have and the quality of life she was aiming to achieve, and the corporate position gave her what she was looking for and allowed her to stay in her hometown of Durango, Colorado.

Callie is now a Captain for FlexJet and her quality of life is exactly what she’s always wanted. She remains passionate about her career and loves that every day is an adventure. “I’m still learning every day, and every day is exciting and new. You’re always growing and I love that you’re always growing in this career.”

Looking back on her training, Callie felt that AeroGuard provided many valuable skills and lessons during her journey. AeroGuard introduced callouts, profiles, flows, all of which she uses in her professional career. She appreciates the professionalism AeroGuard instilled in her and her peers from day one to help prepare them for their careers at the airlines and beyond. In addition to the professional aspect, she mentioned that AeroGuard’s quality and updated equipment helped make the transition from training to the airlines a little easier as she felt she had gained the necessary hands-on experience from the training resources and facilities.

“AeroGuard provided the tools and the resources. …It was really up to you – if you have the drive, the tools were there. From Instrument on, I did it all in ten months. A lot is on the student – if you want to drive for the career, they’ll provide the resources.”

Callie remembers her time at AeroGuard not only consisting of her training, but also the friendships she made along the way that have had an impact on her career. She emphasizes the importance of networking and making these connections because these are not only the people you’re training with, one day they could be who you’re flying with. She shared with us that those people she met at AeroGuard are still the ones she calls when she’s curious about career directions or interested in hearing their perspectives and advice, and she’s also had peers reach out to her for that same mentorship and encouragement. These connections have been invaluable to her career and we love that the student support carries on well after training and into these individuals’ future careers.

Callie is not only passionate about her pilot career, but she’s also passionate about other pilots’ future careers as well. Her advice for the next generation of pilots is “Focus on the next step in front of you and not the big picture. Keep driving, keep using all your resources to build upon your skill as a pilot and don’t give up. Keep focusing. It’s better on the other side – it’ll pay off!”

If you’re currently in training or building your hours, Callie wants you to remember your quality of life and to ensure that it’s part of your thought process when considering your future pilot career. “There’s a lot of ways to do this career, you have to choose”. Whether you’re at the airlines or flying corporate, there’s always a way to achieve the career you’ve always wanted while maintaining a good quality of life.

Hearing from Callie about her inspiring work ethic and passion for her career serves as a testament for the drive and determination she encompassed as she went through training and how she operates in her professional career today. We hope that you take away some valuable insight from her unique perspective on pilot careers, and always remember to focus on the step that’s right in front of you.

六合彩投注网, a leading provider of professional pilot training, is proud to announce the successful completion of its inaugural class of Cathay Pacific cadet pilots. This significant milestone is the first of many within the five-year agreement between AeroGuard and Cathay Pacific, whereby AeroGuard trains the premier airline’s cadet pilots on an accelerated timeline. Through their high-quality training and accelerated timeline, AeroGuard demonstrates unparalleled commitment to aviation excellence.

Within this strategic partnership, 六合彩投注网 built a customized course to meet Cathay Pacific’s specific requirements as well as those of the HKCAD, while integrating AeroGuard’s high-quality curriculum and training procedures that establishes industry leading pilots.

Cathay Pacific’s first class of cadets have now completed their training with AeroGuard and are returning to Cathay to complete their last phase of training before they begin flying for the airline. These cadets trained within an accelerated 10-month timeline and completed all necessary licenses and ratings that has prepared them for their future careers with Hong Kong’s leading airline.

Across its three U.S campuses, 六合彩投注网 offers state-of-the-art training facilities with the capacity to train hundreds of future pilots. This structure provides every student pilot and instructor the resources and learning experience they need to become capable pilots and reach their dream career.

Joel Davidson, AeroGuard’s CEO stated, “We are proud of this partnership with Cathay Pacific and the successful graduation of our first class of their cadet pilots. Their success is a testament to the collaborative efforts of both AeroGuard and Cathay Pacific, demonstrating our shared commitment to shaping the future of aviation.
